I did a shoot in Middle Cove with Kristina Parsons of stylebyKP back in the summer and I love the palette of the whole shoot. Kristina is a montreal-based Newfoundlander working in the fashion industry. If you’re looking for some social media content or a stylist visit her instagram here!
This is pretty exciting news! I am officially working on my first TV hour documentary for CBC, as part of the Absolutely Canadian series. This doc will be shot entirely in Newfoundland and it’s about the mobile workforce, people who have employment-related travel and it will be supported by CBC, On the Move Partnership and the NLFDC.
I am currently in the pre-production process of working out contracts and looking for main subjects to be in the film so if you know any of the following 3 people that might be interested in being in it feel free to reach out to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) and say hi!
Single mother using public transit to get to and from her job
A fly-in/fly-out worker with a family in Newfoundland
A single/divorced male truck driver
The shoot itself will be very low key and it may just be me with my camera and a few lights fyi!
Last year I helped out with this short piece on restorative justice within Miawpukek Mi’kamawey Mawi’omi in Conne River. I am very grateful to have been a part of this and learn about the different restorative practices within this community. Take a look!
Some good news: I’m back to (socially-distant) shooting!!
This is my first work project since covid began and it’s a listing for the Georgetown Cafe building which is now up for sale. This is a historic area of St. John’s and it would be a great spot for someone looking to start a local business. Check it out!
I was on Out of the Fog a few weeks ago with Jason Piercey talking about my latest documentary, Behind Banana Vacuum! Normally I would be in the studio with him but now everything is virtual to be safe during the pandemic. This might be the first day in a few months I put on nice clothes and did my hair/makeup haha. Take a look 🙂
Now that the festival run is finished I now have my latest documentary on Vimeo! It had 12 official selections, 3 awards and 1 nomination, not bad for a no-budget film! Here’s to making more documentaries in 2020! I hope you enjoy my film :).
In February I went to Fogo Island and hung out with Adam Young to learn a little about his work and life. This is part of a video series by CBC about artists and their studios. I loved doing this project and hope you enjoy it!
