Well here is the final product! Thanks to Kimberly Jose Yapp, Tin Bird Productions has its very own logo! I’m so happy with the results. In case you may be wondering about the name and logo of Tin Bird Productions, it comes from my grandfather. He used to have little wind up toys and would sometimes carry them around in his pocket. A little tin bird was my favourite so when it came to picking out a name, it was the one that stuck out to me. I had other ideas that didn’t make the cut but I might write about them for another blog! One interesting fact about the logo is that the key on the back of the bird is actually 3 apertures, which are essentially mechanisms inside cameras that control the amount of light. This was something Kimberly came up with and I loved the idea. To see more of Kim’s work, visit her webpage and Facebook page here:

I just love this, Lian! It’s so special to have a tie to a loved one like this, and it touches my heart, as it is a memory of you and your grandfather. As I said to you in one of my e-mails, birds are something special that I relate to in memory of my grandfather as well. I actually have two tattoos of birds. I learned that birds are a symbol of travel…swallows in particular, especially for naval officers. After they travelled so many thousands of miles, they earned their swallow tattoos. I moved to England a few years back, and my grandfather was the only one who was really behind me in following my dream of travelling. He was very sick when I moved, and I didn’t know if I would see him again, so saying good-bye to him was especially hard. It was almost like something out of a movie, and is something I will never forget….when I was leaving his cabin (his favourite place in the world), as the door was closing I heard him call out, “spread your wings and fly.” I had always wanted a tattoo, but I wanted it to really mean something, and be symbolic. I did a lot of research about tattoos, and when I learned that birds were a symbol of travel, I thought that would be very fitting….and then I realized how a bird tattoo would also be great to have in memory of my grandfather…and a swallow no less, as I used to love to watch those birds build their nests in a bird house by his cabin. Anyway….that’s my story about me and my grandfather….I did see him again before he passed away….but that is my very special memory of him. In fact, my something blue on my wedding day is a pair of swallow earrings 🙂 Can’t wait to see your promo video…
