Here we did a shoot for “A Fitness” a brand new company that opened its doors in June 2016! We’ll be going back to get some photos of their rooms and classes once they have the final touches done, so far it looks great!! These girls are going to do well, they offer classes, personal training and nutrition coaching. A Fitness gives their clients a lot of encouragement and support so it’s a great place for beginners or seasoned fitness goers to sign up with and become a part of their community! Have you seen “If You Go Out in the Woods Today” yet? We won the award for “Scariest Film” back in October 2015 during the 18-hour Horror Challenge! You can watch it on the big screen at the Nickel Film Festival on June 17th at the LSPU Hall along with some other really great films by local filmmakers!

Perfect Day Design Studio is a local business that started in London and now have locations in St. John’s and Hamburg. They are talented people and they’re great to work with so if you are in need of a graphic artist for anything from branding to all sorts of digital marketing including, give them a shout!
For those of you unaware of NLOWE, they are an organization that help women entrepreneurs succeed in their business endeavours. I just joined this year and have found that NLOWE offers a lot of great resources and support for the things you may encounter when you are a noob (such as myself) running a business.
The people involved in NLOWE are full of great ideas and they can really help you get on your feet or expand your business, depending on how far advanced you are. Even just being in the atmosphere of likeminded women can be very motivating, I have met so many interested people involved with NlOWE so far and I am looking forward to meeting more. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is interested in starting a business or just looking to grow/expand their company.

Happy 1st Birthday to Tin Bird Productions! It’s been a fantastic year for our first in business and we are looking forward to what the future will bring! Thank you to everyone that has helped along the way, there has been a lot of support with groups such a NLOWE and Business & Arts NL as well as our friends, family, clients (past/present/future) and people involved in the Newfoundland wedding industry. We’re so grateful for everything. 🙂
Wedding shows are a great way to meet vendors that can help you celebrate one of the most important days of your life. If you live in Newfoundland, there are a few shows to attend and see what is available to you on your wedding day.
Tin Bird Productions just recently participated in The Ultimate Bridal Show at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s, Newfoundland and I must say -it was a blast! My sister helped me out for the day and we met so many excited brides and picked up a lot of new clients! This was my first wedding show, having only started Tin Bird Productions last July and so I didn’t really know what to expect.
The show itself was very well organized and there was a big variety of vendors to choose from. There were cake decorators, bridal salons, wedding planners, venues, photographers, hair salons, florists and more!
For our booth, I opted to go for a fairly simple display so the focus stayed on our framed TV that was streaming a loop of our most recent videos. (My dad helped me make the frame out of wood and spray paint and I loved it)! I had a big mount of the packages/prices printed off as well as a simple vase of flowers, a little tin windup bird, a framed still from one of our videos and our business cards in a cute little gold holder. Overall, I would say the show was excellent, I had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people so I will definitely be signing us up for the next Ultimate Bridal Show.
The Ultimate Bridal Show isn’t the only wedding show in Newfoundland though, there is another show coming up on March 8th called the Devotion Wedding Show and it will be in the Mount Pearl Glacier. We will be there so if you plan on going, stop by the booth and say hello! Newfoundland has a lot to offer for weddings and these shows are the perfect way to meet the people that will be working with you to ensure your day is everything you hope it will be so take advantage of these opportunities and see what’s out there! -Lian
We are happy to announce that we will be donating our videography skills to film and edit a video for Megan’s Night of Music at the Husky Energy Easter Seals House on May 2nd, 2015. This music concert will feature Newfoundland artists such a Rex Goudie, Justin Nurse, Everglow, Brianna Gosse, Michael Duffy and more! Our job for the night will be to capture some of the acts and audience reviews then edit the footage into a video that can be used for future promotions, as well as a keepsake for those who helped out with the event.

The Easter Seals is a charity organization that helps persons with disabilities. They have many chapters throughout North America, including one in St. John’s, Newfoundland that serves the entire province. The Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador’s philosophy is “let’s identify what the children have trouble doing … and smash the barriers.” They have been helping persons with disabilities and their families overcome barriers through recreational sport and activities since 1937. Free the Children is an organization with chapters all over the world. Their main goal is to empower youth to be agents of change. They have chapters in Canada, USA and the UK, that aim to engage youth to become active citizens of society and work towards a better future through meaningful action.
Free the Children – Street to School
In the Africa, Asia and Latin America chapters, Free the Children aims to work together with communities to give children the education skills and opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty by overcoming barriers that stand in their way. Not everyone is born on an equal playing field so this organization looks to help children obtain the tools they need to succeed and reach their full potential.
